The Arts Street at YEA Journey 2 Unity project, created by high school-aged youth in the summer of 2018, explores the potential to change negative opinions and strengthen positive perceptions about immigration. Partnering with Birdseed Collective in Globeville and Denver Housing Authority, Arts Street youth used creative vehicles such as storytelling in podcasts, community service and art projects to document a variety of immigration and life stories. By using the StoryCorp app to interview an inter-generational group from the community, this Journey 2 Unity podcast hopes to promote empathy and understanding for those who have little or no voice in the overall immigration discussion in America.

Journey 2 Unity
Breaking the Silence of the Unheard
Being an immigrant doesn’t change who you are
It shines the light on where you're from
Whether near or far
Your home is where you make it
No matter where you are
The word family
Doesn't just start with one
It's deeper than all roots
From where it all begun
One by one
Piece by piece
We listen to these stories
